Consultation & Advocacy
Navigating formal and informal support in the school setting can be confusing and stressful. I am here to help!
Educational consultation and advocacy services aim to support caregivers in navigating their child's educational needs, but they have different focuses.

Educational Consultation: Through this service, I provide expert advice and guidance to parents on various aspects of their child’s education. This service may include helping caregivers understand the evaluation process for a Section 504 or Individualized Education Plan (IEP), reviewing the student's plan and recommendations, or offering strategies for supporting a child’s learning at home. The goal with consultation is to help caregivers understand their options and feel more confident in making informed decisions.
Advocacy Services: Advocacy provides a more active role in representing the child’s needs within the school system. This might include advocating for proper accommodations, services, or support for a child with special needs or ensuring the child’s rights are being upheld. I work directly with the family, school, and/or other professionals to ensure that the child receives appropriate education. Advocacy services are often needed when there are disagreements or challenges in accessing needed resources or caregivers want to ensure they understand school recommendations and are asking the 'right' questions.
During a complimentary consultation, I will gather information about your current concerns for your child and assess if I am a good fit for your family.
